Lewis Barbecue Will Soon Open In Greenville

The former Tommy’s Country Ham House on Rutherford Street will soon be home to Lewis Barbecue.

Back in February 2021, Lewis Barbecue made an announcement that it would open its second location in Greenville, just two weeks after meat-and-three owner Tommy Stevenson announced his retirement and restaurant closure.

Lewis Barbecue, originally from Charleston, SC, will offer Central Texas-style barbecue in a counter-style service, along with “honky-tonk music” and a “laid-back atmosphere.”

According to owner John Lewis, the larger space will allow the Greenville store to provide a broader menu with unique options only available locally due to its size, which is significantly larger than the Charleston restaurant.

Lewis Barbecue serves award-winning brisket, pork, ribs, turkey, sausage, mac and cheese, potato salad, pinto beans, and corn pudding, among other dishes.

Lewis Barbecue’s Greenville restaurant is set to launch this summer.
